Claire Pettibone Trunk Show – Still Life, Decoupage and Continuing
The White Room
It all started with a Dutch masterpiece “Still Life of Flowers on a Marble Table,” by Rachel Ruysch, 1716.
In the second half of the 17th century, the art of the floral still-life reached the height of fashion. Dramatic arrangements of flora and fauna, insects and fruits, set against dramatic dark backgrounds exude a mysterious romanticism.
Graceful details adorn delicate silks and laces gilded in gold, glowing as if lit from within. The rich floral embroideries give the effect of a painting come to life, while a few artful butterflies flutter in. The brilliance of nature’s beauty is highlighted to dramatic effect, just as the bride becomes the center of our attention.
Even more wow? We are offering a £200 gift voucher for use in the boutique when you choose to order a Claire Pettibone gown at our event. This can be used against shoes, accessories or veils.
Prices range from £1700 to £7100 exclusive of alterations. Please be aware that Claire’s simpler, cotton gowns such as Yolanda and Queen Anne Lace retail for circa £1600 however her more intricate pieces, hand beaded, and appliqued such as Viola and Adagio retail for over £3500.
